I'm joining the Gonzaga Lacrosse team in a Be Brave and Shave to support cancer research at Children's National Health System in Washington, D.C. Thank you for considering a donation to support me and the children fighting cancer!
On May 12th, I will celebrate my fundraising success and symbolically join children who lose their hair because of chemotherapy by shaving my head!
I am dedicating my efforts to my friend Kelly Brodnik. Just four weeks ago, Kelly was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (a form of bone cancer) in her left knee. She is undergoing treatment for 9 months, including chemotherapy and the replacement of her knee and part of her femur about halfway through.
Kelly is 13 years old, has three sisters and lives in Vienna, Virginia. Her dad Mike is a Gonzaga alum, class of '90. She plays soccer, basketball and also swims. I am so impressed with how brave she is, and how she has such a great attitude and outlook while she is in the middle of this fight.
I hope you all will help me exceed my fundraising goal to honor Kelly, and all the other kids also fighting to beat cancer.
