At Children's National, our doctors, nurses, researchers, and staff understand what it takes to treat the whole child, no matter what the injury or illness. From broken bones and asthma attacks to pediatric cancer and rare genetic diseases, we are dedicated to ensuring every child can live healthier and grow up stronger.
The Race for Every Child is a Saturday like no other that brings together patients, families, hospital staff, and members of the community to celebrate and support this commitment to pediatric care. Racers and the friends, family members, and co-workers who support their race efforts raise much needed funds that ensure we can continue to pursue tomorrow's cures while providing children the medical care they need today.

Who better to convey the excitement of the race and the important role Children's National plays in the lives of so many in our community than the kids we care for and their families? Let their words rally your teammates and supporters for this fun, community-focused day with a serious purpose!
"The Race for Every Child is one of our family's favorite traditions. There's no better way to express our gratitude to Children's National than to do all the things that the doctors made possible for our son: run, play, and laugh.”
- Campbell Smith, Race for Every Child co-chair, 2016 and 2017
"If you want to make someone's day, or change someone's life or fight for a cause, the Race for Every Child is the way to do it. If you want to inspire someone, this is your ticket in. This is how you change lives.”

"Once we found out Nolan would need specialized care, I knew he had to come to Children's National. It's amazing how hard people are willing to work for you here. So we work hard to give back through the race. The money goes where it's needed most.”
- Kate Detwiler, Children's National employee since 2013
"We didn't know we needed Children's National, but in that moment when Grace was crashing, they were there for us. Now we choose to give back through the Race for Every Child because it's an event where the whole community can come together to support Children's National.”
- Brigg Bunker, Race for Every Child co-chair, 2017
"The best part of the Race for Every Child is seeing our families come together to interact and support each other in pursuit of a common goal that's larger than any one of their children.”
- Dr. Brian Rood, Director of Clinical Neuro-Oncology and leader of the Brain Tumor Trouncers race team
"I first learned about the race while Shoshana was in open-heart surgery. When I saw the poster, I knew we were going to do that race. Now, we run and raise support each year to give thanks for the phenomenal care she received at Children's National.”
